Meet the Secretariat

Prachi Sukhnani
Deputy Secretary-General
Hi! My name is Prachi and I am a junior at HIS. This year, I will be taking the position of Deputy Secretary-General of the West Lake MUN conference in November. West Lake MUN will be by 11th conference overall. Every conference that I have been to has taught me to be a more world-minded and empathetic person while improving my ability to solve some of the pressing issues we face as a species & I have made unique memories that I will keep with me. Being DSG gives me an opportunity to implement my organization skills, as I will be working the executive team to pull off this conference. 2016 will be the 10th year of the WLMUN conference (along with the G20 summit being held in Hangzhou), and I am excited to take on such a high leadership role within the conference. I look forward to running another successful conference and making it better than it was last year.

Sophie Chen
Secretary-General
Hello everyone! My name is Sophie Chen, and it is my honor to serve as your Secretary-General for the 2016 West Lake MUN conference. I am currently studying as a sophmore at Hangzhou International School. I have spent much of my time participating in Model UN activities in the past four years, through debating and developing solutions to complex issues. I have participated in many conferences as a delegate, going on to chair and then organising conferences and committees to provide other students with the same memorable experiences that I’ve had. For this year’s conference, the secretariats and I strives to expand and improve upon West Lake MUN both in size and quality, and to provide an overall unforgettable experience. We look forward to welcoming you all to Hangzhou and we hope to see you there!

Saarthak Sikri
Deputy Secretary-General
My name is Saarthak Sikri and I come from India and I have the honor to be your Deputy Secretary-General in this year’s Westlake MUN conference. One of the best parts of my past 2 school years has been participating in MUN conferences, and in those 2 years I have attended a total of 7 conferences (Westlake will be my 8th). Out of the forums I have been in, I have enjoyed Security Council the most. Every single one of the conferences has given me an opportunity to learn, to understand and helped me become a bit more confident than the one before (hopefully). This will be my last year in MUN and as much as I am looking forward to graduating. I am not ready for my MUN journey to end just yet. I hope for another great year in MUN and an amazing Westlake conference filled with fruitful debate. My name is Saarthak Sikri, I love debating and more importantly, I love MUN.
