The West Lake MUN conference was founded in 2007, and hosted by Hangzhou International School. The conference was founded in order to provide students new to the Model United Nations with an introduction to the principles and practices of the MUN program. This conference is still designed for that purpose but with the understanding that a certain percentage of the delegates may be returning for the second or third time and looking for new challenges. West Lake MUN involves international students as well as Chinese students and is open to both middle and high school students (ages 12 to 18).
